Overview

The Mother City is hands down one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  With it's incredible beach AND mountain views, it's easy to be inspired and wowed on any given day in Cape Town.

Cape Town is long on views and not at all short on fun.  There is TONS to do in this city - hanging out at the V&A Waterfront, catching an open air movie, visiting the wineries, visiting any one of the beaches (there are at least 30!), doing a stroll of the art galleries, hitting up a braai, checking out the botanical gardens, hanging out at one of the cool bars on Long St or Bree St...we could go on, there's a LOT to experience in Cape Town and so much to see.

Where you'll live

The best areas of the city have easy access to public transportation, walkability, and are a bus ride or quick walk to one of the beautiful beaches. The neighborhoods we're living in are Sea Point, Camps Bay, or Green Point.

Our standard lodging requirements is that all of our Wanderists have:

  • Your own bedroom
  • Wifi
  • HDMI Enabled Television
  • Kitchen/Kitchenette
  • Linens
  • Cookware, dinnerware, cutlery
  • Access to laundry facilities

Here are some examples of lodging we typically have:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

A few days after you arrive, you'll enjoy a welcome event (which includes lunch or dinner) and get to know your Wanderist family.

HopOnHopOff.jpg

Typically, Hop on Hop off tours are kinda cheesy. Not this one! Cape Town is just SO beautiful that it's hard not to enjoy this experience. We'll do a twist on the Hop on Hop Off tour, where we have selected our favorite spots for you to hop off to enjoy some very special experiences around the city. Plus, this Hop on Hop off tour goes to wineries!! YASSS.  It will be a full day of getting to know the beauty of Cape Town, and it is QUITE beautiful.

We can't go to South Africa and not go on Safari!  We'll head out for an overnight trip to a Game Reserve and go on a photography hunt for the Big Five.

On our way to the Breede River Valley, we'll stop by the KWV distillery, one of the leading wine and spirit producers in South Africa. We'll be treated with a specialized Brandy and Chocolate tasting marrying fine Belgian chocolate with award winning KWV brandies.

On safari, we'll get the chance to spot giraffes, leopard, lions, rhino, gnu, buffalo, and elephants! Our tour guides will take us on two game drives and when we're not hanging out with animals, we'll lounge at the Game Reserve enjoying the all you can eat buffet, the pool, and the fire pit under the stars.

A sunset picnic on Table Mountain? Why not! If you'd like to hike up the mountain or ride the cable car, it's up to you but we'll gather together before sunset at the top of this majestic mountain, eat some great food, sip on fantastic South African wine, and watch the sunset over the Atlantic.

If you love to cook, you'll enjoy our cooking class in Bo-Kaap where we'll get a tour of this great and well known area of the city, then visit the home of one of the locals to learn to cook somosas and other tasty dishes.
